Just got my 1969 Navion Rangemaster H in Oct of this year. I flew with Chad Hawthorne in his '47 with an E-225 and really enjoyed it. However, my wife wanted a door and I wanted some additional speed so the Rangemaster was the perfect answer. This is 1061Y formerly D-EBBP. She's otherwise known as NAV-4-2531. She was originally purchased from the factory by a lovely German couple and lived a European lifestyle strutting down the runways there until the year 2000 (German flag on the tail). She was put up for sale, purchased and reimported. For the last 12 years she's lived a rather lonely life in Green Bay only flying about 100 hours over the last 10 years. Needless to say she needs some TLC. Starting next week she's getting a brain transplant (new Dynon glass panel, new radios, new autopilot, IFD-540) tummy tuck (cracked hatbox repair) knee replacement (new trunnions) and a face-lift (exterior and interior cosmetic work) plus a hydraulic system rebuild. Fortunately, she still has a lot of giddy-up. Only 600 hours on her engine rebuilt in the UK. She'll be under doctors care till late Dec or early Jan. Then, we will be taking a bunch of long cross country flights.

Got mine in Nov. 2020 from Montana. Now home at Easton, MD (KESN) on the Eastern Shore. She's a 1948 Ryan Navion named "Blue." (Can't imagine why :-) ). Am busy setting various things right and getting to know her. Good performance, so am looking forward to trips and maybe some formation work. The IO-470H gets her up to altitude pretty darn quickly. There's a LOT about the plane that reminds me of my days in the T-28 with Cece Loter.

Here is my Navion. Its a long forgotten airplane. She has recently, had semi-rough life. But, things are getting better for her:
North American Aviation, NAV-4-781, N8781H. I purchased her from bad aircraft broker who did her no favors. She was previously owned by actor(s) Walter Slezak, and other actor Harold Russell. There are a few more people in the mix. But she was painted these colors by a husband and wife acting team of Joe Kirkwood Jr. and Cathy Downs. She is in process of getting a new avionics upgrade, and engine monitor.
